For adults, the usual dose of Provigil is 200 milligrams, taken as a single dose in the morning.

Modafinil is not to be taken by any individual who is under the age of 16.

For older adults (over the age of 65), they may need a lower dose, especially if they have liver or kidney disease - which reduces the body's ability to metabolize Modafinil

In all situations, a Doctor must determine the safest and most effective dosage for the specific person.

In case of overdose, call your local poison control center or 911 immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include: agitation, restlessness, confusion, hallucinations (seeing things or hearing voices that do not exist), nervousness, uncontrollable shaking of a part of the body, fast, slow, or pounding heartbeat, chest pain, nausea, diarrhea.
